My husband and I are fans of The Walking Dead and we haven't missed a single episode since Season 1. The 3rd season has given me so much heartache with the deaths of Lori and T-Dog in just one episode! It has also made me so frustrated of how Rick lost it and went a bit crazy after. Then finally, he has woken up in Episode 6.

I'm a Hulkmaniac
When we were younger, my siblings and I were not that much into watching the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) games. We did cheer for Ginebra especially if it's a championship match but basically it's because our dad was a Ginebra fan. Actually, we are more fond of watching the wrestling matches shown on TV. We each had our idols and mine is, of course, Hulk Hogan. The day he left WWF/WWE was the day I stopped watching wrestling. So just imagine my surprise and delight when I saw Hulk Hogan grace the season 10 of American Idol! See the video below:
In my opinion, there is no other wrestler like Hulk Hogan. There is a charisma in him that the others don't have. Seriously, my Ate Net and I often got emotional when he's hurt even though we know that the moves are staged. He was my personal superhero for the longest time.
How about you? Are you also fond of Hulk Hogan? If not, who's your wrestling superstar?

TV For Sale?
The husband is a TV addict. I think most men are. It's really not much of a problem for me because I always give him uninterrupted TV viewing every time he's off from work. I believe he deserves it and it's the cheapest R&R, way cheaper and more practical than watching movies in the cinema.
He wants to buy the GanzKlar LCD TV that he saw in the mall last weekend. I know that he wants it real bad because he sometimes tells me that he'll buy it. My only problem is that it is so expensive! We made a deal. He can buy the new TV once we're able to sell the 29" TV we now have in the living room. He tells me it's old but it was bought only in 2006! I'm thinking of selling it online or offering it in an online auction. What do you think?

Cable's Back!
When you're using satellite cable, the rainy season is always a bad time. When the rainy season in the country started, I also started having problems with our cable signal. One unfortunate day in July, a sudden downpour coupled with thunderstorms completely affected our cable signal. Since our provider also switched satellites during that time and was supposedly providing free reorientation services to their subscribers, I was advised to just wait for my scheduled visit.
I waited but they never came. I finally found a cable technician/reseller near my area. I paid a thousand bucks because my satellite dish was transferred to a better location within our property. After that was done, I got my cable signal back. Now, my boy is enjoying his Spongebob Squarepants on Nickelodeon, my husband is watching movies again, and I am back to admiring modern office furniture in the lifestyle channel.
It took us 2 months before we got our cable signal back. If only I haven't trusted our provider's service people, we could have enjoyed uninterrupted cable signal.

Marielle is one lucky lady!
Diamonds are a girl's bestfriend. I heard a song with that line. Indeed, ladies love diamonds especially when it is given by someone special. Actress and TV host, Marielle Rodriguez, is currently the talk of the town and the envy of most girls because of the diamond ring given to her by Robin Padilla, The diamond ring was said to be worth 1.2 million pesos!
I wasn't able to watch the eLive episode that everyone is talking about since I attended a blog event last weekend. But I was able to watch this video and, I must admit, I was swept away by the Bad Boy of Philippine Movies! Oh my, he does know the way to a lady's heart. Then again, 1.2 million pesos for just one diamond ring is too much.
Ms. Rodriguez, you are very pretty and very lucky to have a handsome and lavish suitor! Hay...

Did America Make DeWyze Choice?
It's a bittersweet day for me today as I watched the finale of American Idol Season 9. Everyone knows for a fact that I was rooting for Mama Sox to win the competition. From the start, I have always been a fan of Crystal Bowersox since Day 1 of her American Idol journey. She is so talented and was definitely in a league of her own. Nevertheless, I wasn't too surprised that the 24-year old paint salesman, Lee DeWyze, won the American Idol title this year.
This is the 3rd straight year that a male AI contestant won. Not to mention that the male winners have the "matinee idol" appeal being good-looking and all that. To me, it appears that American Idol voters in the States may be teenage girls or mostly women who found Lee DeWyze cute enough to vote for. I believe this is the same reason why Casey James made it to the 3rd spot.
But in fairness, Le DeWyze really improved a lot throughout the season. Crystal Bowersox's musical genius sure is higher by a mile compared to that of Lee's but Lee slowly and diligently worked his way to the top. Who doesn't love an underdog, anyway? And besides, I'm sure that Crystal will still make it big in the music industry, just like how Adam Lambert is doing now.
Ok, gotta go back to work on my apidexin reviews. What do you think? Did America make the wise choice this time?

Schizophrenic Kids, Kinda Impossible But True
Yesterday, I was able to read the story of Jani Schofield, the 7-year old schizophrenic kid featured recently on Oprah. I was moved with emotions both for Jani and her family because it is hard to be dealing with this mental condition at an early age. Her family also had to adjust their lives for her because she has become violent. She and her brother lives in two separate apartments because there have been incidences of her hurting her brother. Her parents take turns in sleeping over their separate apartments.
Jani talks about Calalini, the world that her schizophrenic mind has created for her to believe. She talks about the creatures in this world too and how they tell her to do bad things. You know, sometimes, we parents think that having imaginary friends are normal for children her age. Her parents thought the same way too until Jani became violent.
I have taught special kids with autism, Down's Syndrome, and ADHD and I felt sad for them for having these conditions. Now, after reading Jani's story, I feel that they are luckier in some ways. With therapy and special education, they can be taught to be functional individuals in this society. Not even a free concerta coupon can treat Jani because doctors said that hers is a lifelong condition that needs to be monitored closely because of her violent tendencies. I can only pray for Jani and her family. She's still an angel, no matter what her mental condition makes her do.

His Story
I'm in bed already and Michael Jackson's songs are still playing in the background. I'm a fan. Who isn't? Even my nine year old son is. My goodness, I had to bully him just so he will go up to his bedroom and stop watching MTVs ultimate tribute. He has been watching it the whole afternoon and even commenting on some of the videos that were shown. He read the Wikipedia entry on the King of Pop and even begged me to buy TIME Magazine's special issue. I guess it's true that Michael Jackson's music really bridges the gaps between generations.
I also got to read the magazine last night and his story almost brought me to tears. I think he was very much misunderstood by many. Being Jacko was just the result of a missed childhood plus being under the public's scrutinizing eyes for more than forty years of his life. You know, I was emotional when Marlon Jackson spoke during the memorial and said that "Now they will leave you alone." Yes, all the leeches that Lisa Marie Presley wrote about in her blog will now leave him alone.
I am bothered by the thought that he died in debt. Everything went way out of hand. I just hope that some of the people around him even bothered to ask for life insurance quotes in his behalf for the sake of the children he left.
Michael Jackson's story may have ended tragically but his music will not.

Kevin Jonas is Getting Married
The oldest of the Jonas Brothers trio has just proposed to his girlfriend, Danielle Deleasa. Isn't that sweet? Some have criticized the move considering that the brothers have a very promising career. Kevin getting married may lose some of their infatuated fans. Others think that he is still too young to be thinking of marriage. He's 21. I got married when I was 21 so that really is not a problem for me.
Anyway, that ring is the engagement ring that Kevin gave Danielle. Isn't it pretty? The solitaire diamond is set on a 210 diamond studded platinum band. Must have cost a fortune.
It may seem that proposals will never be complete without diamond engagement rings. I hope that couples realize that the ring is not the only one that will make the marriage successful.

King of Pop is Gone Too Soon
I logged in this morning only to get RSS feeds of news about Farrah Fawcett's demise. After a few minutes, here comes another feed stating that the King of Pop was rushed to the hospital and was rumored to be dead. LA Times has just confirmed that Michael Jackson, who was 50 years old, died of cardiac arrest a month before starting his scheduled comeback concerts in London.
Jackson was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital in a deep coma. I heard some news saying that paramedics found him in his rented Bel-Air home not breathing already. His place is just six minutes away from the UCLA Medical Center. It could have been the stress from all the preparations of his comeback concert. Some reports said that he's not happy about some of the locations. The tickets are sold out already in all of the locations. Awww.... it would have been a huge success.
The King of Pop will surely be missed. He's already a legend. I am now sharing a video of his performance of "Gone Too Soon" in 1992.

Twittering Again
I almost totally abandoned Twitter just a month after I signed up. Well, one of the reasons why I have chosen Plurk over Twitter is that I can update my plurks through PhPlurk. When I started with Twitter back in July, I can still send mobile twits through phtwitter. Two weeks after that, Twitter decided that they cannot allow free sms updates anymore from other countries outside US and Canada. Another reason is that I liked Plurk's timeline style of updating. The responses are also more organized and most of my plurks end up like chatting with my plurkmates.
Just recently, I got back to twittering all because of my love for Chico and Delamar of RX 93.1's The Morning Rush. It's a routine for me to catch them on air from 6 to 10 in the morning. Since they opened their lines to Twitter a few weeks ago, I found it more convenient to greet them or post my responses to the daily Top Ten through twittering. In fact, yesterday, I twitted my response to "The Top Ten Moments When A Family Member Embarrassed You" and Chico got to read it on air!
Hollywood celebrities are using twitter, too. Below is a dNeero conversation about this.
I enjoyed reading Oprah's twits but I will need to find more courage before I can send her a twit. I heart Oprah! Who's your favorite twitting celebrity?

Ate Glow's Lunch With Baraks
I just can't help posting this. This video gave me my needed dose of laughter this early Monday morning. (Just in time when I'm starting to panic as my father is being rushed to the hospital. But I'll be writing about that in another post.) I have already seen pictures of this Barack impersonator a few weeks ago. He does look like Barack, a little thinner than him though and I think that voice is dubbed.
