There have been numerous requests for me to share the Tagalog wedding misalette that we used in my sister's wedding back in 2008. I know how difficult it is to find a Tagalog misalette (moreso a Tagalog wedding misalette) in the Internet.

Just today, another reader emailed me asking for a copy but I can't find my file in my laptop! I dunno if I transferred the file to my external hard drive or what. Fortunately, I found an attachment of the Tagalog wedding misalette which I sent another reader back in May. I decided to upload the .pdf file in Scribd before I totally lose a copy. I'm also embedding it here so those who need it can easily download and print from Scribd.

The Christmas season becomes the brightest season in the Philippines because of the well-lighted and decorated roads, establishments, and homes. Christmas lights are standard Christmas decorations in every home. In fact, Christmas lights shaped as a star or a Christmas tree are common sights in the country this time of year.



The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) also "lighted up" their Meralco compound for the holiday season. The company has opened its Meralco Liwanag Park last November 25, 2011 with no other than Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up and Meralco Ambassador of Light, Miss Shamcey Supsup, gracing the event.



Aside from the expected lighted attractions, Meralco has prepared a light show, a Christmas village, a night bazaar, and electric rides to its visitors. There's no entrance fee to visit the Meralco Liwanag Park but the company asks only a simple favor from its visitors and customers.



Begun in 2006, Meralco's Maliwanag and Pasko campaign serves as one of Meralco's channels for supporting various charities. This year, in line with the theme of love and light, the company's One Meralco Foundation supports at least 1,000 Filipino children's schooling. The company is asking for the public's support by just lighting up their homes with Christmas lights this holiday season. How easy is that?

All you have to do is to email your photo (maximum of 1MB in size) to maliwanagangpasko@meralco.com.ph with these details:

• A caption of 60 words or less describing how you're making this Christmas brighter for the family.
• Your contact details: Present address, landline/cell number, official email address, and your Meralco Service ID Number (SIN).

All qualified entrants will receive an email from Meralco and the photos will be posted on the Meralco Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/meralco). That means you should also LIKE the Meralco Facebook page to be able to see your photos. Also, the email from Merlaco will include a customized Maliwanag ang Pasko Facebook badge to display on their own FB pages. Qualified photos submitted from November 18 to December 20, 2011 will also be posted on the Maliwanag ang Pasko site (www.maliwanagangpasko.com)

The Meralco Liwanag Park will be open until December 30, 2011. Just bring an ID to leave with the guard by the gate (in front of Shell Ortigas-Emerald) for your Visitor's Pass. We were also told that the park closes at 10PM.

I'm gonna wear these ears this Halloween!


Aren't they cute? I found them over at Toy Kingdom Express for only Php 49.75. I don't normally dress up for Trick or Treat but this year coincided with my niece's first birthday and I need to join the gang, so to speak. At least, I wasn't required to go around looking for cheerleader costumes for adults , right?

No treats, just tricks for us living the sugar-free life so let's make it a blast! Hope you enjoy your Halloween!

I vividly remember the blue tin can that made my mother's eyes gleam with joy back when I was a little girl. NIVEA Creme was her favorite balikbayan box pasalubong because it was a vital part of her beauty regimen. NIVEA Creme became our special skin cream, too. But since it was just for mom and it's often kept inside her make-up bag, I would secretly dip my finger inside the tin can every once in a while. Yep, Mama was somehow madamot of her kikay stuff back then especially if it was her NIVEA creme!

In celebration of our 11th wedding anniversary, our small family of 3 is bileted at The Legend Villas for the weekend. We were fortunate to have arranged an early check-in and late check-out the following day. What made us more happy was that The Legend Villas still has their 40% promo until tomorrow!










Since my husband and I promised each other that we'll spend this weekend with our boy work-free and worry-free, I have to leave my small office table with this cute pendant lighting now and join them in our private jacuzzi. Oh yeah, I'm loving this kind of life. Even if it's just for this weekend.

I became a member of Facebook during its early years but it was only in 2009 that I became active in the said social network. I saw it grow from something that looked inferior to Friendster to a social network that has surpassed even the functions of Yahoo mail. Most of my friends don't even send me email anymore but I do get a lot of Facebook mails.

One of the things I love most about Facebook is the Events page. We held two successful family celebrations this year with its help. More than 50 people attended Rap's birthday last May without me even printing a single invitation. That's amazing considering the efforts I made making his 1st birthday invitations years ago!

My parents' birthdays are five days apart. My mom turned 60 last Sunday while my dad will turn 60 tomorrow. Me and my siblings have planned a simple party to celebrate the occasion on Sunday and friends and relatives will be coming to celebrate with us.


I am really thankful that my parents are turning 60. I actually wish them more years to come so that they can truly enjoy their retirement years. Honestly, I feel kind of sad that we are still unable to provide them the lavish party that I wanted them to have. We are short in funds because I had to shell out money for our youngest brother's tuition.

But anyway, the Lord does provide. Two cousins of mine who are overseas sent money that we added to our budget. Aren't they the sweetest? Plus, I recently spoke to my former editor and she asked me to be part of a new project she's spearheading! After receiving the good news, I suddenly felt excited to head to SM tomorrow and find a handsome piece for my dad from the men's polo shirts department. I also hope to buy something for my mom.

My nephew, Clyde Lorenz, turned 5 yesterday. By the way, it's interesting to know that yesterday was 8/9/10 or August 9, 2010. I was surprised to see the little boy along with my siblings in my doorstep carrying a box of cake. What followed after was an impromptu birthday party of sorts.


Fortunately, since it was a Monday and I did my grocery shopping during the weekend, my pantry was full and I was able to prepare some pasta and garlic bread in a jiffy. I had slabs of pork steak in the freezer but I wasn't able to grill some because my outdoor grill was a mess. I think I should check out some outdoor electric grills the next time I shop. It would make grilling less troublesome for sure.

After we had our pasta and cake, we let the birthday boy play the Wii and we had a videoke session right after. It was a great impromptu party but a little bit tiring on my end. But as you can see, the little boy was as happy as he can be so I didn't mind getting tired at all.

I never knew I'd be as excited as I was this afternoon when my boy and I reached Enchanted Kingdom. You see, in the five years that we spent living in Santa Rosa City, I've only been in the park twice. The first time was right after we moved in and the last was weeks before we got relocated back to Manila. I guess I really missed Enchanted Kingdom so much that I took so many pictures of the place. Rap and I were lucky to be part of the 50 bloggers who spent Valentine's Day at Enchanted Kingdom. We were brought there to witness the park's Enchanting Hug-a-Palooza event. Too bad my husband had to be on duty in the office today and had to miss all the fun.


We rode the bus provided for us by the Enchanted Kingdom guys and arrived at the park a few minutes before 3 in the afternoon. The heat was unbearable, I tell you, but I wasn't able to resist my boy who pulled me to go and try the rides immediately.
But while our special pink wristbands gave us ride-all-you-can access, I wasn't able to muster enough courage to ride these...


Nevertheless, we enjoyed the bump cars, the Wheel of Fate, Up, Up, and Away, and the mini-train ride before the Hug-a-palooza program started.


We were up in the giant ferris wheel when the lion dancers danced around the park in celebration of Chinese New Year. Belly dancers also wiggled their bodies in one part of the park.


By the time we got off the Wheel of Fate, it was only a couple of minutes before the Hug-a-Palooza program started. So we decided to have snacks and refreshments at the foodcourt using our complimentary Wizard Money.


After our snacks, we chanced upon the other bloggers who were lined up for shots in the photobooth.


The band played lively music to everyone's delight!


At 6 pm, all of the rides were stopped to give everyone the chance to witness the program. Young and old; families and lovers; the EK staff, traditional media men, and us bloggers; were all gathered in front of the stage to witness the incredible feat of having the largest number of people hugging each other all at the same time. The program was hosted by the owner of the park herself with Mr. Tirso Cruz III.


At exactly 7 pm, music was played and it cued the official start of the Hug-a-Palooza. Fireworks lit up the sky, too!


Families with the most number number of members present at the event were given special pins and other prizes. Other park attendees, that means us included, were showered with chocolates and candies. We also got free sampler bottles of Colgate Plax. Before the program ended, it was announced that more than 6,000 people attended the event that day. Therefore, Enchanted Kingdom's aim of bringing families close to each other this Valentine's Day was a success!


It truly was a happy Valentine's Day for me and my boy even when we missed having our Dadijun around. Thanks to Azrael Colladilla and Enchanted Kingdom for giving us a chance to be part of this wonderful feat. By the way, this is just the first as Enchanted Kingdom will be holding Hug-a-Palooza every Valentine's Day starting tonight! Special thanks also goes to Mikco Maiquez of Enchanted Kingdom for taking good care of all of the bloggers who participated in the event.

Malaki ang utang na loob ko sa naka-imbento ng food delivery. Nitong nagdaang Byernes kasi ay ika-10 taong anibersaryo ng kasal namin ng aking kabiyak. Como nga ika-10 taon, nagplano naman ako ng munting salu-salo para sa aming pamilya. Nung una'y binalak namin na kumain sa labas at manood ng sine kasama ng aking anak at biyenan. Kaya nga lang, noong araw na iyon ay kinailangang pumasok ng aking asawa sa trabaho at ginabi na ng todo. Ang pagkain sa labas ay naging sa loob na lang ng bahay. At dahil nga hindi na ako nagluto ng hapunan dahil nga balak naming lumabas, nagpa-deliver na lang ako ng pizza, pasta, at chicken. Bumili naman ang aking kasambahay ng beer at vodka sa kalapit na grocery. Ayun, nakaraos din ang aming munting salu-salo. Nagustuhan pa ng lahat? Oo naman! At sa tingin ko'y mas naging masaya pa kaysa kung kami ay natuloy lumabas.

I am indebt to whoever invented food delivery. Last Friday was our 10th wedding anniversary and we were supposed to celebrate by having dinner in a restaurant and watching a movie. However, my husband had to go to work that day and had to stay late in the office. All our plans of going out were cancelled. I called a restaurant nearby and had pizza, pasta, and fried chicken delivered. My houseboy went to the supermarket nearby to buy a bottle of vodka and some cans of beer. We had dinner as soon as my husband arrived. Did everyone like our celebration? Yes, of course! And I think what we had was even merrier compared to what we could have had if our plan pushed through.
