A Day in the Life of Diabetes

The American Diabetes Association is launching a new initiative in time for November, which is the American Diabetes Month. Starting October 1, 2012 the Association will ask people to share a personal image on the American Diabetes Association's Facebook page. The image will represent what A Day in the Life of Diabetes means to them.

The photo can be of themselves or someone they care about. It can also be something that shows how diabetes has made an impact in their lives. The images that will be submitted will then be used to fill up a larger-than-life mosaic image that will be projected in Washinton D.C. on World Diabetes Day.

The best part of this initiative is that for every photo uploaded to the Association's Facebook page, CVS/Pharmacy will donate $1 to the Association, up to $25,000.

To share your own personal image, click the Share Photo tab that can be found at  Facebook.com/AmericanDiabetesAssociation. For more information about this project and to be updated on the activities lined up for American Diabetes Month, you can also follow the Association on Twitter (@AmDiabetesAssn).

this is a good avenue for people with Diabetes to show the world how this ailment has altered their lives in so many ways. In the same manner, it is also a perfect opportunity for non-diabetics to learn more about the disease + the people who continue to live a normal life even when they are afflicted with it.

I'm sure this project will be able to gather many interesting pictures of the everyday life of diabetics.

I know a lot of people with diabetes, my mother included. I hope more people will learn about this and support this worthwhile undertaking.
