In the US, 911 is number to call for all kinds of emergencies whether or not it is medical in nature. I just noticed that we have different emergency numbers here in the Philippines. For example, there's 117 supposedly for the whole country but there's also 168 for Makati, 161 for Marikina, and 7 digit emergency numbers for the other cities. Don't you think it's a little confusing?
I hope that we can have just one number to call especially for emergency medical assistance. I think that a national 3 digit emergency number would be very helpful in times of emergencies because it would be very easy to recall even by a panicking individual.
